 The "Paddle Flockers" compete in the time trials portion of the Carolina Beach Dragon Boat Regatta The 8th Annual Carolina Beach (NC) Dragon Boat Regatta was held Saturday, Sept. 17 in the yacht basin/canal. With origins in both Asian and Viking culture, this lively aquatic event featured teams competing in "Dragon Boats," large canoe-like vessels fitted with ornately carved dragon's heads and tails.
