Not-In-The-Wild Wildlife (1) // Molokai: Surf, Sand, and Giraffes? These images were taken at the now closed 800-acre Molokai Ranch Wildlife Park. Once upon a time, vans transported guests over arid, desert-like plains that more closely resembled Africa than an island in the Pacific. Close encounters with giraffes, zebra, deer, turkeys and bighorn sheep among others, were the norm.

War // Totally 80’s Flashback! Before heading off to college at Brooks Institute, I attended Los Angeles Valley College for a semester to scoop up a few general ed. credits, including an art class entitled “Modern Art.” We were given an assignment to depict “war.” At the time, the silly “cola wars” were kind of a thing, so I decided to have some fun with it and flesh out that notion in a photograph. I dismembered a Star Wars action figure (including weapons), attaching the arms to a pair of soda cans, and VOILA! Boy George was right, “war, war is stupid”…even if we’re talking about cola.
